Bringing Light to Motherhood is a free mobile web-based app that provides basic education about the transition to motherhood and the emotional changes that often occur during pregnancy and the period following delivery, the effects of untreated symptoms, tips and ideas for managing stress, and guidelines to recognize when professional help is needed. This app also gives mother’s the option to create a self-care plan. The app was developed by Maternal Mental Health NOW in Los Angeles, and is offered as a free service to the community.

The Toolkit for professionals: Bringing Light to Motherhood: Community Provider Perinatal Mental Health Toolkit is an easy-to-use resource for any health care provider or caregiver that interacts with pregnant and new moms. It includes tips and recommendations on the risk factors, symptoms, prevention, screening, intervention and treatment of perinatal depression and related mood disorders, the toolkit also provides handouts that providers can distribute to patients, an exhaustive list of resources and information in Spanish.

Diversity in Perinatal Mental Health Webinar Series are free and provide an opportunity to learn and deepen conversation about issues related to diversity, determinants and disparities in perinatal mental health. These virtual trainings are on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 12-1pm. Registration is required prior to each event.
